We believe that no one can actually drift or coast into becoming “more like Christ.” While transformation, to some degree, might happen incidentally, it happens best intentionally.

All throughout the Bible, our life with God is described with the word and metaphor of walking. This implies that to become more like Jesus, we need a step-by-step awareness of both where we are and where we intend on going. Jeremiah 6:16 says, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.’” Where are you? Where are you going?

FPC’s desire and commitment is to help people answer those questions so that both personally and corporately, we can walk intimately with God and be made more like His Son.

The first step in the spiritual life is to connect with Jesus Christ. There is no other means to intimacy with God, our Heavenly Father, than through Jesus, His Son. We desire that everyone would have the opportunity to hear and respond to the amazing true story of what Jesus has done in order to make us His people. The Bible uses many images and metaphors to describe the “good news” of Jesus’ rescuing us. From once being orphans to being adopted, sickness to healing, being lost to being found, enslaved to being set free, the most important part of connecting, is connecting with Jesus. This is what you will hear on Sunday mornings.

Part of CONNECTING to Jesus takes place as we connect with one another and enjoy deep relationship with other Christians who walk together in fellowship. We also encourage people to CONNECT with FPC through church membership.

Step 2: BECOME

It is when we intentionally allow the Scriptures to intersect our lives, and when we do this together with others through study and life-on-life discipleship that we BECOME more like Jesus.

At FPC we offer a host of Bible Studies and Life-on-life discipleship opportunities to help people BECOME more like Jesus.

Step 3: ENGAGE

We believe that every single person who has CONNECTED to God and is BECOMING like Jesus is also gifted to ENGAGE—to serve in the church, their friends, co-workers, neighbors, and out even to the ends of the earth for the cause of seeing more people made more like Jesus.

There are numerous opportunities to serve each week at the church, in local area ministries, and even in short or long-term global missions.
