We offer a variety of ways for women to be encouraged and strengthened in their faith, as well as to use their talents and gifts to serve God and his people.

Our three Women’s Ministry branches are:

Women to Women, Bible Studies, and Specialty Groups

Women to Women

This group of women plans several events throughout the year providing opportunities for women’s fellowship.  They organize events and activities that build relationships, encourage women and provide spiritual and social support to the women of FPC and to women of the North Shore.

Tidings of Comfort and Joy:

An Evening of Christmas Celebration

Thursday, December 6th at 7pm, Ipswich campus

Ladies, ’tis the season to celebrate the birth of Jesus with a night together!  Come join us for an evening of:

  • Tidings:  Be encouraged with a time of Christmas devotion from Laurie Truschel,
  • Comfort: Your favorite Christmas food and crafts,
  • Joy: Sing with us some of the carols we all love!

This year each table will be decorated by a team!  Love to set a Christmas table?  Love holiday decorations?  We need you! We need 9 individuals (or teams) to put together one round table using the theme “Tidings of Comfort and Joy”.

  • We’ll provide the blank slate (a white table cloth).
  • You provide place setting for 8 people (plate, utensils, napkins, cups . . can be china, every day glass or paper goods – you’re the artist!) and a centerpiece (eg: flowers, lanterns, table runners, baskets, reindeer, nativity sets etc.)  No fire, strobes, things that could ruin food!
  • Prizes will be given……!
  • You can set up your table Wednesday, Dec 5th from 7:45-8:45 or Thursday, Dec 6th from 9 – 11 am.
  • Contact Esther if you’d like to host a table/table team!

All – please consider bringing gift cards to Target, the Gap, or Old Navy in any amount to hang on our donation tree to help support the women of Amirah!

Bible Studies

Our women’s ministry offers three weekly Bible study on Tuesday mornings, Tuesday evenings and Wednesday evenings.  Our goal is to foster intentional fellowship and spiritual growth as women gather together to discuss how God’s word and our lives intersect. For more information about those, click here.

Specialty Groups

Spiritual Growth Book Clubs

These book clubs provide an opportunity for women interested in developing/growing an area of their spiritual life via a short but intentional book club facilitated by select women capable of helping women asses their strengths, learning needs, and ministry applications. A secondary objective is to create an environment where women can build new relationships and connect across age/career/marital/parenting lines.  Stay tuned for our next group!

“Moving On After Moving In” Women’s Small Group Study.  A Christ-centered 8-session study helping women cope with the challenges, emotions, and losses of a move and equipping them to put down roots in a new place.  Based on the book, After the Boxes are Unpacked: Moving On After Moving In, by Susan Miller, president of the “Just Moved Ministry” (www.just-moved.org).  The study will address emotional struggles and opportunities for spiritual growth as women start afresh in their new communities.

Please contact Esther at esther@fpcnorthshore.com for information about any of these groups.
