Women’s Retreat March 11, 2023
FPC Women came out in full force on Saturday for our one-day retreat, and it did not disappoint! The tables were full, our tummies were full, and our hearts were full as we feasted on God’s Word. Julie and Jeni led us in worship throughout the day, our own David Charafeddine prepared a scrumptious banquet for us, Carmen and her team kept us fed with charcuterie boards and treats all day, and the men of the church served us with joy. Debbie Petersen, our retreat hostess, told her story to rapt attention, and Nancy Ruiz gave us a fresh look at the Parable of the Prodigal Son. We will never forget the image of the father hiking up his robes and racing to run the gauntlet for his son, taking on his undeserving son’s humiliation and wrapping him in his own robe. What implausible love! “Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.” Luke 15:23, 24 Stay tuned for Discipleship Groups and other upcoming follow-up events.
