Summer 2023 Online Bible Study through the PCA
If you are looking for a summer Bible Study to tide you over until the FPC Women’s Bible Studies start in the fall, then check out this online study entitled, “Entrusted to be Invested,” (a study on 1 Timothy) from the PCA. The following is an excerpt from the website description: “Entrusted to be invested is a short little phrase that will guide us as we study together this summer. We want to invite you to gather a group of women to study the pastoral epistle, 1 Timothy, alongside the other women across the PCA. In this short book, Paul highlights the doctrinal riches entrusted to Timothy and the church leaders at Ephesus and then challenges them—and us—to invest and embody them in such a way that the world leans in and looks to determine whether the gospel is believable and beautiful. Would you consider investing six weeks this summer towards strengthening your church? Everything kicks off June 9!” You can get more information, sign up for the online study, and order the book by clicking this link: Entrusted to be Invested.
Women’s Retreat March 11, 2023
FPC Women came out in full force on Saturday for our one-day retreat, and it did not disappoint! The tables were full, our tummies were full, and our hearts were full as we feasted on God’s Word. Julie and Jeni led us in worship throughout the day, our own David Charafeddine prepared a scrumptious banquet for us, Carmen and her team kept us fed with charcuterie boards and treats all day, and the men of the church served us with joy. Debbie Petersen, our retreat hostess, told her story to rapt attention, and Nancy Ruiz gave us a fresh look at the Parable of the Prodigal Son. We will never forget the image of the father hiking up his robes and racing to run the gauntlet for his son, taking on his undeserving son’s humiliation and wrapping him in his own robe. What implausible love! “Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.” Luke 15:23, 24 Stay tuned for Discipleship Groups and other upcoming follow-up events.
