We are here in the midst of this crisis with you. We want you to know that God loves you, He walks with you, and He cares deeply about you. May you know the peace and presence of the living God, even in the midst of our current situation. We want to stay connected with you during this season of social distancing. We are all in this together and constantly in need of God’s grace and mercy. Here are some of the ways we hope to be able to support you as we walk through this difficult time together. Please feel free to contact any of our Pastors or Staff if you have questions or if there is anything we can do to assist you during this time.

The Mission

Our Deacons serve the local body of Christ at FPC Northshore and the local communities surrounding us by discretely giving financial assistance to those who are in need. They also encourage and lead our congregation in acts of service toward others in the church and beyond.  They keep their eyes and ears open to the physical needs (shelter/food/financial), spiritual needs (encouragement/prayer/etc.), and emotional needs (visiting members and non-members in their homes) of our congregation and community.

The Motive

Acts 6:1-6 –  From the earliest establishment of the church, the Apostles (Elders) realized that the spiritual needs (prayer and the preaching of the Word of God) of the early church were many.  Yet, they also recognized there were physical (or felt) needs that the church had as well.  These Apostles (Elders) understood both the necessity of, and their inability to fully focus on these spiritual and physical needs.  Given this, they named and ordained seven men that would be given the specific task of distributing food to those in need.  The Deacons of First Presbyterian Church, North Shore recognize their calling as a continuation of that early church ministry.

How You Can Help

Keep your eyes open and your ears to the ground.  As you see and hear of needs, please tell us!  If you have certain gifts and talents to help serve, then please make us aware of them.  Then, as the collective body of Christ, we will be Jesus’ hands and feet to faithfully serve God’s people and the North Shore.

If You Need “Help In Hard Times

If you find yourself in need of prayer, struggling with financial burdens, grieving a loss, are unwell or hospitalized, or have other spiritual or emotional needs, please contact our Deacons at deacons@fpcnorthshore.com. We are here to help you.

Meals Ministry at First Presbyterian Church of the North Shore

Part of being in the Body of Christ is to serve one another. A tangible way of service and of being the Hands and Feet of Christ is done through the Meal Ministry. The Meal Ministry is another extension of the Diaconal Ministry here at FPC Northshore. Its purpose is designed to alleviate and support people who are facing challenging times, joyful occasions, and unforeseen circumstances with prepared meals.

If you hear of a need or know of someone in our local body of believers and community that can benefit from this service, please reach out to Kendra Burke, Coordinator of the Meal Ministry, by email. You can also call the church office at 978-356-7690.
